SOLAR LIGHTING

What is Solar Lighting?

Solar lighting is a type of lighting that uses LEDs and photovoltaic solar panels to produce electricity. It then stores the electricity in a rechargeable battery, usually a nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery.

By using this technology, you can help reduce the environmental impact of non-renewable resources that are rapidly depleting our planet’s natural resources.

Low-maintenance

Solar lights are free to use once installed and don’t require rewiring or ongoing maintenance like mains powered LED systems. They are ideal for remote areas where power lines can’t reach or have been compromised through copper theft, and can be installed quickly with minimal disruption to the surrounding environment. They are also a practical solution for temporary lighting requirements such as construction sites and parks.

Solar light fixtures collect and convert solar energy into usable lighting throughout the day, then turn on at night to illuminate outdoor areas. They’re perfect for highlighting beautiful garden features, creating a welcoming walkway to your front door or shed, or brightening up a dark corner of your backyard. They can even be used to highlight water elements such as ponds, fountains and swimming pools or to create a stunning display along your driveway or steps.

Many of our solar lights feature motion sensors or a dimmer option, making them more kinder to wildlife than traditional mains-powered lighting. These lights emit a softer glow and can be switched off during the day to minimise disturbance to nocturnal insects, birds and bats. The brightness of your solar lights is another factor to consider, as too bright can be glaring and distracting. Look for a model that provides a detailed specification of battery and lamp lifespan, lumen output and warranty.

No electricity bill impact

Solar lighting is a great way to save money on electricity. These lights are designed to collect energy from the sun and transform it into light sources like LED lamps. They use a rechargeable gel SOLAR LIGHTING cell battery that can be used for many hours without draining. They can be set up in a number of different setups, such as a flagpole light in your garden or on the roof of your home. You can also install them in your business to keep the area well-lit at night.

Solar lights are also a great option for remote areas that don’t have access to the electrical grid. They can be a more cost-effective solution than traditional mains power lighting, especially for rural areas where the mains are unreliable. Since solar lights don’t rely on electricity from the grid, they are less susceptible to fluctuations and have a longer lifespan than other lighting solutions.

Another benefit of using solar lighting is that it doesn’t require any wiring and can be installed in a matter of minutes. This is particularly helpful for homeowners who aren’t comfortable doing any electrical work or don’t want to hire an electrician. This type of lighting is also safer for families because it’s cordless solar lighting manufacturer and won’t be plugged in accidentally by criminals who try to break into the house.

Longer lasting

Solar lights absorb sunlight during the day to charge a battery that illuminates your garden or terrace at night. They are a great alternative to mains and standard batteries and have the added advantage of saving money on electricity bills too.

Like any light fixture, they need to be placed in a location that receives plenty of sunshine. You can also increase the lifespan of your solar lighting by wiping down the panels regularly and protecting them from harsh winter weather.

The type of bulb is important too. LED bulbs are the best for solar lights as they use less energy, preserving the battery longer. Another way to ensure your battery lasts is to switch off the lights during rainy days. Rainy weather stops the panel from absorbing sunlight and leads to premature battery death.

Most solar outdoor lights have a sensor that switches them on and off at night and dawn respectively. However, the sensor can be impacted by other light sources nearby so it is vital to keep them away from other lighting or they may not turn on at night. Additionally, the sensor will not switch on if the light is positioned too close to a natural source of light such as sunlight or a street lamp. It is also important to check the settings on the solar lights as incorrect ones can drain the batteries too quickly.

Eco-friendly

Solar lighting is a renewable energy solution that helps reduce dependency on non-renewable sources of electricity. It’s also a great way to minimize disruptions from fluctuating electricity supply and increase the use of public spaces, especially for people who can’t afford grid-tied lights.

Solar lights collect solar energy (the sun’s rays) during the day and convert it into electricity that powers light bulbs at night. They don’t require a cable or plug and are self-sufficient once installed, relying on their own battery that recharges each day.

Small up or down lights that sit on fence posts, these are ideal for lighting the whole boundary of your garden. They’re also easy to move from one area to another, so you can illuminate different spots in your yard.

LED bulbs housed in lanterns, these lights are great for illuminating the garden, patio or even the deck of your home. They can be hung up from the handle and are a good option for parties or to place around the table at al fresco meals. They don’t have flashing modes, but they have a good battery life and an on/off switch. They also come fully assembled, making them a convenient option to wall mount on your fence or to install for a hanging lantern. Once you’ve finished with them, the panel/bulb/battery unit is easily replaceable and available at many retailers.
